Samoa Joe is widely considered the next big thing in professional wrestling. He made his name with the independent promotion Ring of Honor. Joe held their World Title for 23 months. The 23-month title reign was the longest time a wrestler has held a World title since the mid 1980’s. During his time with Ring of Honor, Joe would feud with CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

He is praised for bringing back a hard-hitting wrestling style, which has been missing for some time. Joe made his TNA debut in the summer 2005. In his first match, he defeated Sonjay Dutt at Slammiversary. He quickly impressed the wrestling world. The Orlando fans began to chant "Joe is gonna kill you" to taunt his opponents, which has become Joe's motto.

In his first major feud with TNA, Joe wrestled A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels. They would have some of the best matches in the fall of 2005. The matches made Samoa Joe a star in TNA. During this time, Joe would capture his first title by beating A.J. Styles on 12/11/05 for the TNA X Title. Joe would hold the title for 4 months. He would remain unbeaten for 18 months. He lost his first match in TNA to Kurt Angle. Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle would headline three pay per views in a row. The feud was the highlight of TNA in the fall of 2006.

Samoa Joe has yet to win the world title in TNA. In the next few years, people will start to hear more from Samoa Joe as TNA grows.
