Ric Flair is a legend in professional wrestling. He has been a headliner
for over the past 3 decades. In the 1980's, Ric Flair was a headliner in NWA. He was
the leader of the 4 Horsemen along with the Andersons and Tully Blanchard. The Horsemen faction
would dominate the NWA.
In 1991, Ric signed with the WWE for 2 years. During this
time, He won the WWE title in the 1992 Royal Rumble. It is widely considered the
best Royal Rumble match of all time. At Wrestlemania 8, Ric would lose the world
title to Randy Savage in a great match. Ric Flair has said publicly that his
1991 stint with the WWE was the most fun he ever had in professional wrestling.
He would return to WCW in January 1993.
In WCW, Ric Flair continued to headline numerous events. He is credited for
making Sting and Lex Luger stars. Ric Flair feuded on and off again with Sting
throughout WCW's history. Ric would win the World title 18 times.
After WCW went out of business,
Flair would join the WWE in 2002. Ric would continue to wrestle for the WWE
until Wrestlemania 24. Ric Flair would lose to Shawn Michaels, which many
belived would be his final match.However, after only a few months Ric changed
his mind and wanted to continue to wrestle. The WWE would release him from his
contract in the summer of 2008.
